Miss Kathy has been dancing since 1953!! First dance classes were in daycare—formal dance lessons began with Mary Woods at age 6, continuing thru high school. Training in ballet, jazz, tap, pointe & lyrical continued with teachers from Pennsylvania Ballet, Jazz Dance Center, University of the Arts, & in NYC at Broadway Dance Center & Steps. Past teachers include Charles Kelley, Luigi, Shimon Braun, Ann Reinking, LaVaughn Robinson & Mike Lanning.

Kathy studied ballroom at Academy of Social Dance & is currently training & dancing at Storm Ballroom Dance Centre with friend & dance colleague, Tommy Radon. They have won first place in Cabaret style at American Star Ballroom Dance Competition at Resorts in AC & Senior Rhythm Bronze Grand Nationals Competition in Miami. Miss Kathy competed in Senior Open Gold Rhythm division Dancesport in Manhattan, Empire, Capitol, Southwest & Tulip Competitions in NYC, Jersey City, Alexandria Va, Dallas TX & Punta Cana!

Kathy has performed at the Philly Fest, Franchin’s, Atlantic City night clubs & at numerous charity functions throughout the Delaware Valley. A former member of Jazzworks Dancers, voted #1 Jazz dance group in Philadelphia, she has choreographed for Junior Miss Pageant, high school productions, night club acts & talent shows. Miss Kathy taught master classes in early dance education at Camden County College & master jazz classes for International Teachers of Dance conventions. Some of her students have danced with Pennsylvania Ballet, The Miss America Pageant, The Ritz Theatre & local productions.

A dedicated professional, Miss Kathy has been teaching for over 40 years. She takes pride in her studio, her wonderful staff & the loyalty shown by her students & parents. A number of former young dancers contact “Miss K”, years down the road, to choreograph their wedding dances!! Truly full circle, those dancers eventually bring their children back to Kathy’s Dancenter to begin their dance training. Over 8000 dancers have passed through KDC doors since opening 37 years ago in 1987! Kathy’s Dancenter has received awards for excellence from both the State Assembly & Gloucester Twp Mayor’s offices.

Kathy is a lifetime member of Dance Educators of America & International Dance Assn.
